This public lecture will discuss the importance of disaster preparedness and mitigation within the academic community, including lessons learned from Kitakyushu, Japan, in building resilient communities that are better prepared to respond to various disaster situations.

Through this activity, participants are expected to enhance their understanding, awareness, and preparedness in addressing disaster risks both on campus and within the wider community.
