FK USU and SDGHI Strengthen the Health System for Early Breast Cancer Detection in Medan, North Sumatra
Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in Indonesia and the leading cause of cancer-related mortality. According to data from the Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) 2022, breast cancer accounted for 16.2% of all new cancer cases in Indonesia in 2022—66,271 cases out of a total 408,661 new cancer cases—making it the most prevalent cancer in the country that year.
