Description

The Sobat Bumi Scholarship Program 2025 is a scholarship awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, are actively involved in organizations or social and community activities, show concern for the environment, and are enrolled at a Pertamina Foundation partner university, Universitas Sumatera Utara being one of them (Regular Sobat Bumi Scholarship Category).

Sobat Bumi Scholarship Program Components for 2025 (Regular Category)

The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 8 semesters for undergraduate (S1/D4) students and 6 semesters for diploma (D3) students or until graduation is declared. The components of the Sobat Bumi Scholarship include:

  • Tuition Assistance (SPP/UKT): IDR 3,000,000 per semester for regions outside Java and non-Papua areas (including Universitas Sumatera Utara)
  • Living Allowance: IDR 750,000 per month
  • Capacity Building and Character Building Programs

Eligibility Criteria for the Sobat Bumi Scholarship Program 2025

  • Indonesian citizen
  • Currently enrolled at a Pertamina Foundation Partner University (Universitas Sumatera Utara)
  • Active undergraduate (S1) student in at least the 2nd semester and at most the 6th semester (not on academic leave)
  • Semester GPA (IPS) or Cumulative GPA (IPK) must be > 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
  • Actively involved in student organizations, social, community, or environmental activities
  • Not currently receiving any other scholarships from January 2025 to December 2026
  • Has never been involved in drug abuse, narcotics, or any other criminal activities
  • Possession of a foreign language proficiency certificate (preferably English: TOEFL/IELTS) is an added advantage.
  • Must submit a written essay on the theme: “Small Steps, Big Impact: My Innovation Towards a Green Environment.”

Essay Guidelines for the Sobat Bumi Scholarship Program 2025 

  • General Requirements
    • Applicants must be candidates for the Sobat Bumi Scholarship 2025
    • The essay must be original and written individually.
    • The essay must be written in Indonesian.
    • Must include at least three supporting photos
    • The essay title must not exceed 10 words.
  • Writing Format
    • Essay length: minimum three pages, maximum 10 pages (excluding cover page and references, if any)
    • Paper size: A4
    • Margins: 3 cm (top, bottom, left, right)
    • Font: Times New Roman or Arial, size 11
    • Line spacing: 1.5
    • File format: PDF
    • File name format: FullName_University_EssayTitle
