The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara held the Doctor Inauguration Ceremony for the Second Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year in the 3rd Floor Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine. 13 new doctors were officially inaugurated and took their oaths in a solemn ceremony on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), followed by the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K), who led the Doctor's Oath-taking.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), stated that the tradition of the Doctor's Oath-taking Ceremony witnessed today is a declaration of readiness by the new doctors to dedicate themselves to society. This declaration should not merely be recited but must always be remembered, as this spiritual oath carries profound significance for every alumnus from this moment until the end of their lives.
"As alumni of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, you are expected to always work to the best of your abilities. Perform your duties professionally, in accordance with your competencies, while upholding ethics and adhering to all applicable regulations. Be agents of change in your respective environments. Uphold the good name of your alma mater and bring honor to the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara in society," Prof. Aldy continued.
The Chairman of the Alumni Association (IKA) of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Zainal Safri, M.Ked(PD), Sp.PD-KKV, Sp.JP(K), also delivered a speech. "On behalf of IKA, I congratulate the young doctors inaugurated today. This inauguration is a very special milestone in your lives. We are ready to mentor you with open arms by offering free training programs, webinars, and seminars. This program aims to help young doctors gain additional SKP credits."
The ceremony continued with a speech from the representative of the new doctors' parents, Dr. Ir. M. Sabri, M.T., IPM Asean Eng, who congratulated the newly inaugurated doctors on their remarkable achievement—one that is not easily attained but brings immense pride to their parents. He also encouraged them to embark on their medical careers with noble hearts and a commitment to humanitarian service.
"The role of parents is crucial in providing education for our children until they succeed in earning their medical degrees at this Doctor's Oath-taking Ceremony. I would also like to express my gratitude to the entire academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara, as well as to hospitals, community health centers, and everyone involved in the education process of our children," said M. Sabri.
