Alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), Class of 1996, held a reunion to commemorate 30 years of togetherness on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Meeting Room on the 1st Floor of FK USU. Carrying the theme “30 Years United in Memories, Growing in Friendship,” the event served as a meaningful moment to strengthen bonds and reminisce about the alumni’s journey since their years of study at FK USU.
The reunion took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The alumni reminisced about their university days, shared stories about their respective journeys after completing their education, and renewed friendships that have lasted for three decades. The gathering also reflected the alumni’s continued care for their alma mater, which has played an important role in their personal and professional journeys.
The Chair of the Reunion Committee, M. Aron Pase, who also serves as a staff member at FK USU, expressed his appreciation to all alumni who attended and participated in the event. He emphasized that a reunion is not merely an opportunity to gather and reminisce, but also a chance to strengthen the sense of family and make meaningful contributions to the alma mater.
“After 30 years, we have gathered again in a place that has been part of our life journey. Hopefully, this meeting will not only bring back memories but also further strengthen our friendship and our commitment to FK USU,” said M. Aron Pase.
As a form of care and contribution to their alma mater, the Class of 1996 alumni also presented commemorative items that can be utilized to support the needs of FK USU. This contribution not only symbolizes the alumni’s gratitude toward their alma mater but also reflects their commitment to supporting the development of an increasingly supportive educational environment.
This initiative is in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly through support for educational facilities and environments, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes the importance of collaboration and partnerships in advancing sustainable development.
