(Medan, 21 August 2025) – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), once again achieved a proud accomplishment by holding the Doctor’s Oath-taking Ceremony at the USU Auditorium, attended by 60 new doctors. Among them, 21 graduates earned the cum laude distinction, reflecting their outstanding academic achievements and dedication throughout their studies.
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), expressed his pride in the graduates’ accomplishments. “Today is not only a graduation moment, but also the beginning of a great responsibility as a doctor. Always uphold integrity, professionalism, and empathy in every service step. The title of doctor that you now bear is a trust, not merely a source of pride,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp. F.E.R. emphasized the vital role of graduates of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in improving public health.
“We hope these new doctors will become the frontliners of healthcare services in North Sumatra and across Indonesia. The Faculty of Medicine USU is committed to consistently producing excellent medical professionals with strong character who are ready to face global challenges,” he stated.
“This marks a new chapter for the Faculty of Medicine USU. Under the leadership of Dean Prof. Aldy, for the first time, the Faculty has successfully held the Doctor’s Oath-taking Ceremony in the USU Auditorium. This is a proud milestone for all of us,” he added.
The Doctor’s Oath-taking Ceremony was held solemnly by university leaders, faculty members, graduates’ families, and representatives of professional organizations. Through this oath-taking, the new doctors are officially entrusted with the responsibility to dedicate themselves to society in accordance with the medical code of ethics.
