Medan – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), welcomed an educational visit from Al Fityah Senior High School, Pekanbaru, on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The visit, held on the FK USU campus, was attended by students and their accompanying teachers with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of medical education, university admission pathways, and the learning facilities available at FK USU.

The visit began with a welcoming session at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara. During the session, participants received an overview of FK USU, including its academic programs, admission pathways, tuition fees, student achievements, and the various strengths that have established FK USU as one of Indonesia’s leading medical education institutions.

dr. Hidayat, M.Biomed., Advisor to the Dean for Information Technology at FK USU, expressed his appreciation for the visit from Al Fityah Senior High School Pekanbaru. He noted that the activity represents a positive step in helping students gain a clearer picture of higher education, particularly in the field of medicine.

“We are delighted to welcome the students of Al Fityah Senior High School Pekanbaru to the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara. We hope that through this visit, participants can obtain accurate information about medical education, become more familiar with the academic environment of FK USU, and be further motivated to pursue their aspirations in the healthcare field,” said dr. Hidayat.

During the faculty introduction session, dr. Hidayat also explained the various admission pathways, the competency-based learning system, opportunities for student development, and the supporting facilities available to enhance the educational experience. He emphasized the importance of academic preparedness, discipline, and strong commitment for students aspiring to pursue medical studies.

Following the presentation session, participants were invited to tour several learning facilities at FK USU, including the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Laboratory, the Anatomy Laboratory, and the Histology Laboratory. During the tour, students received explanations regarding the functions of each laboratory, the learning methods employed, and the practical experiences that medical students undertake throughout their studies at FK USU.
