The Basic Surgical Skill (BSS) 1 Training event was held in Padang on December 16–18, 2022. The Basic Surgical Skill (BSS) training is a mandatory program organized by the Indonesian Obstetrics and Gynecology College (Kolegium Obstetri dan Ginekologi Indonesia or KOGI) for new participants in the Obstetrics and Gynecology education program.
The training spanned 3 days and covered topics related to basic surgical skills such as handwashing techniques, wearing surgical gowns, introduction to and usage of surgical instruments, stitching techniques, repair, and anastomosis of intestinal and vascular injuries. At the end of each training session, an OSCE and a written examination were conducted to ensure participants' competency.
In this training, dr. Afrilia Rosada Lubis achieved the third place as the best participant.
