The 74th Anniversary celebration of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was officially opened with the Merah Putih Festival. The event was attended by USU Rector, Vice Rectors, University Secretary, all Deans of USU faculties, and the Chair of the 74th USU Anniversary Committee, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.K.Fm, who also serves as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU).
The excitement of the Merah Putih Festival continued with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the USU Rector to officially inaugurate the event. The ceremony was part of a series of celebrations combining the spirit of USU’s anniversary with the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
Amid the festivities, FK USU actively participated in various competitions held as part of the 74th USU Anniversary celebrations. The participation of the FK USU academic community was not merely an opportunity for competition but also served as a platform to strengthen togetherness, foster sportsmanship, and develop potential and creativity beyond academic activities.
The anniversary celebration was further enlivened by the FK USU bazaar booth, which showcased various products and creative works from members of the academic community. The booth provided an opportunity to introduce the potential and works of the FK USU community while encouraging interaction and collaboration among units across the university.
Equally lively, the FK USU Band took the main stage and delivered an entertaining performance. The performance added to the festive atmosphere while highlighting the diverse talents and creativity of the FK USU academic community.
