The Clinical Nutrition Residency Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), in collaboration with the Indonesian Society of Clinical Nutrition Physicians (PDGKI), carried out a flood relief initiative on 5 December 2025 by distributing medicines, food, sanitary supplies, and other basic necessities. In addition to providing logistical assistance, the residents also offered moral support and interacted directly with displaced community members.
The major floods that struck North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh in late November 2025 left deep sorrow among affected communities. High rainfall intensity since 26–27 November 2025 caused rivers to overflow, inundating thousands of homes and damaging numerous public facilities.
One of the affected areas is Tanjung Pura City, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, where many residents are still taking shelter at Masjid Nurul Iman. Flooded homes, structural damage, and limited access to daily necessities have made living conditions particularly challenging for the affected residents.
As a form of humanitarian concern, the Clinical Nutrition Residency Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), together with the Indonesian Society of Clinical Nutrition Physicians (PDGKI), carried out a flood relief action on 5 December 2025 by distributing medicines, food, sanitary supplies, and other basic necessities. In addition to providing logistical assistance, the residents also offered moral support and interacted directly with displaced community members.
The activity was attended by dr. Hilna Shalihat Khairunisa, M.Gizi, Sp.GK; dr. Meriza Martineta; dr. Meutia Wardhanie Ganie; dr. Ridha Aryani; dr. Aisy Putri; dr. Aprillia Kusuma Putri; dr. Ayu Zulhafni Lubis; dr. Muhammad Aidil Fadli; dr. Damayanti Tridahayu; dr. Rauzatul Fitri; dr. Zsizsi Akbarinda; dr. Rizka Kharisma Putri; dr. Agnesh Ribka Theresya Sinulingga; and dr. Tiara Balqis Agsa.
Through this initiative, the Clinical Nutrition Residency Program of FK USU, in collaboration with PDGKI, hopes to help ease the burden of communities during the post-disaster recovery period.
