The Clinical Nutrition Study Program conducted a Community Service activity in the Starban area, Medan Polonia. This activity was part of the CARE (Combat and Reduce Stunting) Program under the theme “Efforts to Prevent and Overcome Stunting through Educational and Participatory Approaches.”
The activity was attended by the Head of the Clinical Nutrition Study Program, Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari, along with Clinical Nutrition residency students, namely dr. Meyva Sasmita, dr. Syafira Anandhita, and dr. Hanipa Rana Zahara Harahap.
This activity aimed to enhance public knowledge and awareness regarding stunting prevention through educational and participatory approaches. During the program, the team provided education on the importance of balanced nutritional intake, proper parenting practices, and early prevention of stunting.
In addition, the activity also featured a cooking demonstration as a practical educational effort to encourage the implementation of balanced nutrition in daily life. The program was conducted interactively with active participation from the community.
It is hoped that this activity will improve public understanding and awareness in maintaining health, particularly for mothers and children, thereby contributing to the reduction of stunting rates within the community.
