The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara once again reaffirmed its commitment to producing professional and competent medical personnel through the Presentation of Certificates of Expertise to 10 Specialists in Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics. The event was held on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, at Hotel Le Polonia Medan and took place in a solemn atmosphere filled with pride.
This event represented an official institutional acknowledgment of the success of participants of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) in completing their training and meeting the required competency standards as specialists in the field of Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics. The presentation of the certificate of expertise symbolized the doctors’ readiness to serve professionally and deliver the highest standard of healthcare services to the community.
In her remarks, the Chair of the TKP PPDS of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Dr. dr. Cut Adeya Adella, Sp.OG(K), stated that the awarding of this certification is an achievement worthy of appreciation, as it constitutes formal recognition of the specialists’ professionalism.
“This is a joyful moment for the 10 specialists in Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics who were inaugurated today and have received their competency certification as medical specialists. The awarding of this certificate of expertise also serves as an official form of recognition of the professionalism and competence they possess as specialists,” said dr. Cut Adella.
She further added that this achievement is not only a personal source of pride, but also an important contribution to improving the quality of healthcare services, particularly in the field of skin and venereal health in Indonesia.
Echoing this sentiment, the Head of the Dermatology and Venereology Study Program of FK USU, dr. Ariyati Yosi, M.Ked(KK), Sp.D.V.E, Subsp.D.T, FINSDV, FAADV, expressed her hope that the graduates would continue to maintain strong ties with their alma mater and contribute to the institution’s development.
“We hope that all of our alumni, as you mentioned, will always remember us and perhaps even help us further develop this beloved university,” said dr. Ariyati.
This event also served as an important moment to strengthen the relationship between alumni and the institution, while reinforcing the role of Universitas Sumatera Utara in producing outstanding specialists with integrity who are capable of competing at both national and international levels. The specialists are expected to make tangible contributions to improving public health standards and to uphold the good name of their alma mater across various fields of professional service, particularly in Medan and throughout Indonesia.
