Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Adimulia Hotel Medan, the Faculty of Medicine of USU held a Subspecialist and Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology Conferral Ceremony. Also attending the event were Vice Dean I Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked(PA), Sp.PA(K)., Vice Dean II Dr. dr. Muara P. Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)., USU University Secretary Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.F.E.R., Head of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, Dr. dr. Johny Marpaung M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K), Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology Program, Dr. dr. Edy Ardiansyah M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K), Secretary of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, Dr. dr. Melvin Nova Gunawanto Barus M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K), Secretary of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Program dr. Iman Helmi Effendi M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K), and other academicians.

 

 

In his remarks, Vice Dean I, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K). explained that “We need more doctors, especially specialist doctors and one of them is obstetrics and gynecology subspecialists, and USU was appointed as the Coordinator of 6 provinces in Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, and Jambi to work together in the academic system to collaborate with hospitals, collaborate with local governments and collaborate with health offices for how we create more doctors who can serve, but not only quantity but quality is an essential part”.

 

In the speech of the Head of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, Dr. dr. Johny Marpaung M.Ked (OG), Sp.OG (K)., also said that “be a good Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialist, be an Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialist who aims to help those who need our help as Obgyn Specialists to minimize maternal mortality because currently the maternal mortality rate is still very high. Of course, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology functions to produce obstetric and gynecologist Specialists who can use their expertise and knowledge to reduce maternal mortality.  Use your knowledge to help the community out there. And, of course, as alumni, keep the good name of your alma mater and don't ruin it with bad deeds”.

 

 

Congratulations and success to 3 Subspecialist doctors and 18 Specialist doctors who received the Subspecialist Doctor and Obstetrics and gynecology Specialist Credentials. Also, congratulations and success to 16 new Obstetrics and gynecology PPDS doctors. Hopefully, the doctors who have received the Mark of Expertise of Subspecialist and Specialist Doctors can help and devote themselves to the community.
