Medan, August 12, 2026 — The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.K.Fm., welcomed several FK USU alumni for an official visit on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The meeting, held in the Dean's Meeting Room on the Second Floor of FK USU, served as an opportunity to strengthen ties and foster closer communication between the faculty and its alumni.

The visit was attended by Dr. dr. M. Faridz Syahrian, MKM, AIFO-K, an alumnus of the 2008 cohort who currently serves as Commissioner of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, and dr. Galdy Wafie, M.Ked(An), Sp.An, Chair of the Medan Branch of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI). The presence of these alumni reflected their commitment to maintaining ties with their alma mater while creating opportunities for broader communication and synergy between alumni and FK USU.

The Dean was accompanied by dr. O.K. Ilham Abdullah Irsyam, Sp.OT, CF, AIFO-K, Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization at FK USU, in welcoming the alumni. The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with maintaining personal and professional ties serving as a central part of the agenda. The interaction between faculty leadership and alumni also provided an opportunity to strengthen professional networks and maintain relationships established during their time at FK USU.

The presence of alumni working across various sectors is an important part of the FK USU ecosystem.
