Monday, May 11, 2026 — The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) held a morning assembly combined with the introduction of the new deanery officials to all staff and educational personnel within FK USU. The event marked an important first step in strengthening coordination and ensuring that the leadership transition process runs smoothly and effectively.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.K.Fm, conveyed a message from the previous dean, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), who expressed hope that the current leadership transition would proceed properly and without obstacles. This is intended to ensure that all programs initiated during the previous administration can continue and be further developed optimally.
Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.K.Fm also discussed plans to restructure leadership positions at the study program and department levels, including Heads of Study Programs (KPS), Secretaries of Study Programs (SPS), Heads of Departments (Kadep), and Department Secretaries (Sekdep), which will be carried out in the near future. He reminded previous administrators to hand over all important data and documents related to study program accreditation, academic processes, and other administrative matters to the newly appointed officials.
“This is important so that work processes and targets that were not achieved during the previous administration can be continued and completed properly under the new leadership period,” said Dr. Muara.
Through this morning assembly, it is hoped that the synergy between the deanery, departments, study programs, staff, and educational personnel within FK USU will become even stronger in supporting the institution’s future development.
Furthermore, Dr. Muara emphasized that the success of various programs at FK USU requires hard work and collaboration from all parties. According to him, study programs play a very important role as the driving force in achieving the faculty’s targets and accomplishments.
He also advised all lecturers within FK USU that any challenges or needs for solutions related to the implementation of duties within study programs should first be communicated to the respective Heads of Study Programs or Heads of Departments before being escalated to the deanery.
“In this way, Heads of Study Programs and Heads of Departments can directly understand the various challenges faced by lecturers in the field, while also carrying out their roles in guiding and supporting the study programs more effectively,” he added.
