The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), held a meeting to determine home-base faculty members on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The meeting took place in the Dean’s Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and was attended by the FK USU Dean’s Office and the heads of several study programs.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Subspecialty Program in Surgery, Head of the Specialist Program in Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, Head of the Specialist Program in Psychiatry, Head of the Specialist Program in Family Medicine and Primary Care, Head of the Master’s Program in Clinical Medicine, and Head of the Master’s Program in Tropical Medicine.

The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss and determine homebase faculty members for each respective study program as part of FK USU’s efforts to strengthen academic governance and human resource management. The determination of homebase faculty members is an important aspect of supporting educational delivery, study program development, and the fulfillment of academic needs in accordance with each field of expertise.

Through this meeting, FK USU encouraged improved coordination between the Dean’s Office and study programs in faculty management. This synergy is expected to strengthen academic capacity and improve the quality of education at FK USU.

The activity also aligns with FK USU’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through strengthening the governance and resources of quality higher education. Furthermore, enhanced coordination between the Dean’s Office and study programs contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through internal collaboration in achieving institutional goals sustainably.
