The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara once again achieved an international accomplishment through its participation in USIM iMicrobe 2026, organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia on April 25, 2026, in Nilai.

In the competition, the FK USU delegation sent two teams. Team B successfully won First Runner-Up after competing against 28 teams of medical and dental students from universities across Malaysia and Indonesia, while Team A achieved a position in the Top 10.
The competition featured participants from several renowned universities, including Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universitas Diponegoro, and Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya. The competition was highly competitive, covering topics such as Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases.
The FK USU delegation was supervised by Dr. dr. Sri Amelia.

Participation in this international competition not only served as a platform for developing students’ academic competencies, but also opened opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strengthening international networks among medical students from different countries.
This achievement reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine USU in supporting the development of outstanding, competitive, and globally competitive students. The FK USU delegation also expressed appreciation and gratitude to all supervising lecturers, especially Dr. dr. Sri Amelia, as well as to everyone who provided support throughout the preparation and implementation of the competition.
