In the prestigious event The International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) 2025, the delegation from the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully won a Gold Medal in the Life Science category at the university level. The team presented a scientific work titled “CurmahonTM: A Phytopharmaceutical Spray for Seborrheic Dermatitis Relief, Integrated from Mahogany Seed and Turmeric as Anti-Inflammatory Extracts.”

Semarang, 12 November 2025 Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) in collaboration with the Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro and Izmir International Science and Engineering Fair (ISF) Turkey successfully organized a series of prestigious national and international scientific competitions in 2025.

 

This event included The 2nd National Science and Invention Fair (NSIF), The International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF), The 5th National Research Teacher Competition (NRTC), and The 5th International Research Teacher Competition (IRTC). The event was held in a hybrid format, with a total of 775 participating teams from 24 countries, including Indonesia, Palestine, the United States, Turkey, South Korea, the Philippines, and Malaysia, among others.

 

In this prestigious event, the delegation from the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully won a Gold Medal in the Life Science category at the university level. The team presented a scientific work titled “CurmahonTM: A Phytopharmaceutical Spray for Seborrheic Dermatitis Relief, Integrated from Mahogany Seed and Turmeric as Anti-Inflammatory Extracts.”

 

The student team consisted of:

  4. Muhammad Fariidh Ardan Nugroho

  5. Masyithoh Sausan Amjaddina

They were supervised by Prof. Dr. dr. Yunita Sari Pane, M.Si, who provided scientific guidance and motivation until the team achieved this remarkable accomplishment.

 

In his remarks, the President of IYSA, Deni Irawan, expressed his appreciation to all participants and partners who contributed to the success of the event. He emphasized that the activity was not only a competition but also a platform to foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and global collaboration among students and educators. “This event serves as a platform to celebrate young innovators for their contributions to the advancement of science and technology,” he said. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners from each competition category, accompanied by the hope that the spirit of research and innovation will continue to grow in the future"
