The Faculty of Medicine USU received a visit from the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), as part of the Socialization and Coordination of the Work Programs of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization, held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the 1st Floor Meeting Room of FK USU.

The activity served as a momentum to strengthen coordination and synergy between the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization USU and FK USU in supporting the implementation of various cooperation programs and the development of internationalization within the faculty.

Through this activity, the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization USU presented its directions and work programs related to strengthening cooperation at both the national and international levels. The socialization also served as a coordination forum to align faculty work programs with USU policies and strategic directions, particularly in developing institutional networks, academic partnerships, and international collaboration.

For FK USU, strengthening cooperation and internationalization is an important part of improving the quality of education, research, community service, and capacity development of the academic community. Collaboration with various educational institutions, hospitals, research institutions, organizations, and international partners is expected to open more opportunities for lecturers and students to participate in academic and professional activities at national and global levels.

Strengthening these partnerships is also in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes the importance of partnerships and collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals. Through focused and sustainable cooperation, FK USU can expand its networks, share knowledge and resources, and build collaborations that provide positive impacts on the development of education and health.

In addition, the development of academic and international cooperation also supports SDG 4: Quality Education through expanding access to learning experiences, knowledge exchange, competency development, and improving the quality of the academic environment. These efforts are expected to strengthen the capacity of FK USU to produce competent, adaptive graduates with global perspectives.

This socialization and coordination activity is expected to establish increasingly effective communication between the faculty and the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization USU, while also identifying potential new partnerships that can be developed in the future.

With stronger synergy, FK USU is committed to continuing to play an active role in supporting the achievement of Universitas Sumatera Utara's strategic targets, improving institutional quality and competitiveness, and strengthening USU's reputation at the national and international levels.
