“On December 4, 2025, our advance team was deployed to Sibolga by Hercules aircraft with the support of the TNI to conduct an initial assessment as part of the preparation for deploying the main medical team. Tomorrow, Friday (December 5, 2025), the FK team will also be deployed to three command posts located in Medan Baru District,” said Prof. Aldy.

The Faculty of Medicine, together with the Faculty of Nursing of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), continues to carry out various disaster response efforts in several affected areas across North Sumatra. To date, the teams have distributed aid in the form of basic food supplies, logistical necessities, and medicines, as well as provided health services for the community, particularly vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, infants, and children.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), explained that the FK USU medical team had been deployed to the affected area in Sibolga using a Hercules aircraft with the support of the TNI.

“On December 4, 2025, our advance team was deployed to Sibolga by Hercules aircraft with the assistance of the TNI to conduct an initial assessment as part of the preparation for deploying the main medical team. Tomorrow, Friday (December 5, 2025), the FK team will also be deployed to three command posts located in Medan Baru District,” said Prof. Aldy.

In another location, the FK USU medical team has also been present at the evacuation post in Teluk Bakung Village, Tanjung Pura Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, to ensure that disaster-affected communities in the area receive prompt, appropriate, and adequate health services.

In addition, health services have also been provided to evacuees at Babussalam Islamic Boarding School and Al Munawarrah Mosque in Tanjung Pura, Langkat Regency.
