Universitas Sumatera Utara held a guest lecture, “Development in Infectious Diseases Diagnostics Introduction to Mathematical Modeling and its Application in Understanding Transmission Intensity using Seroprevalence Data,” at the Hall Building, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Tuesday (08/10/2024).
This guest lecture featured two speakers: Matthew Joseph Grigg MBBS, BMedSci, DTMH, PhD from Menzies School of Health Research, Australia, and Kartika Saraswati from the National University of Singapore, Singapore.
The guest lecture was hosted by Vice Dean III, dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDipPID M. Ked (Ped), Sp. A, Ph. D, and attended by Medical Education and Profession Study Program students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
In her explanation, Dr. Kartika Saraswati stated that this material provides an understanding of the use of mathematical models in understanding the transmission of infectious diseases. This is very useful for Public Health and can be used to plan policies.
Vice Dean III of the USU Faculty of Medicine, dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDipPID M. Ked (Ped), Sp. A, Ph. D, said that this general lecture was a collaboration in education and research for students of medicine and medical professions.
