The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) held a Deanery Farewell and Welcome Ceremony as a form of respect and appreciation for the Deanery of the 2021–2026 period, while officially welcoming the Deanery of the 2026–2031 period on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the 4th Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine USU. The event, which took place in a warm and family-oriented atmosphere, marked an important moment in the leadership transition within FK USU to continue various institutional achievements and developments toward a better future.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine USU, the Faculty Advisory Board, professors, heads and secretaries of departments, heads and secretaries of study programs, students, and educational staff within FK USU. A heartfelt atmosphere filled with appreciation could be felt throughout the event, which featured reflections on the leadership journey of the previous deanery as well as new hopes for the future leadership of FK USU.
In his remarks, the Dean of FK USU for the 2026–2031 period, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG., Subsp.K.Fm., expressed his respect and appreciation to the previous deanery for their dedication and contributions during their term of service.
“Thank you for the hard work, dedication, and strong foundation established by Prof. Aldy and the previous leadership for the advancement of FK USU. This mandate is a great responsibility that we will carry out together with the entire academic community through the spirit of collaboration, integrity, and innovation to bring FK USU to greater excellence at both national and international levels,” he stated.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the faculty’s strategic programs, strengthening the quality of education, research, community service, and the development of academic healthcare services that are adaptive to contemporary challenges.
Meanwhile, Prof. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), representing the previous deanery leadership, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the support of the entire academic community throughout his leadership period.
“We would like to express our gratitude for the togetherness, support, and cooperation of the entire FK USU family during our period of service. The achievements attained were the result of our collective efforts together. We believe that the new leadership will be able to continue and bring FK USU toward even greater progress,” he remarked.
This farewell and welcome ceremony was not merely a formal leadership transition, but also served as a reflection on the institution’s journey and a reaffirmation of the collective commitment to maintaining the spirit of togetherness, professionalism, and dedication for the advancement of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The event concluded with a group photo session involving all invited guests, followed by a gathering and communal meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The moment symbolized the unity and synergy of the entire FK USU academic community in welcoming the new leadership for the future advancement of the institution.
