Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.K.Fm., stated that the USU Faculty of Medicine continues to open opportunities for collaboration with regional governments and hospitals in supporting the development of specialist medical education.

The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received an audience visit from the Government of Indragiri Hilir Regency together with representatives of RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan on Monday, May 11, 2026. The meeting was held to discuss plans for cooperation in the implementation of the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS), particularly in the fields of Radiology and Cardiovascular Medicine.

The delegation was led directly by the Regent of Indragiri Hilir, H. Herman, ST., MT., accompanied by the Head of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Health Office, dr. Udin Syafriudin, M.Kes.; the Head of Healthcare Services and Health Resources Division of the Health Office, Haili, SKM; and the Director of RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan, dr. Firman Nurdiansyah, M.Ked., Sp.THT-KL., M.M.

Also accompanying the hospital delegation were the Head of Administration, Fauzan, SKM; the Head of Medical Services and Medical Support Division, Hasti Heria, S.Gz; and the Head of General Affairs and Personnel Subdivision, Winda Adinda, SH., MH.

The delegation was welcomed by the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine USU together with the Head of the Specialist Medical Education Program Coordination Team (TKP PPDS) and the Head of the Radiology Study Program at FK USU. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere marked by a strong spirit of collaboration to support the strengthening of healthcare services and human resource development in the region.

During the audience meeting, various matters related to opportunities for cooperation in the implementation of the Radiology PPDS and Cardiovascular PPDS programs were discussed in depth, including institutional support, facility readiness, and the development of specialist medical education expected to address the need for specialist doctors in Indragiri Hilir Regency.

The Regent of Indragiri Hilir, H. Herman, ST., MT., expressed his hope that cooperation with FK USU would become a strategic step toward improving the quality of healthcare services in the region.

“We hope this collaboration can help fulfill the need for specialist doctors in Indragiri Hilir Regency while also improving the quality of healthcare services for the community. FK USU, as a leading medical education institution, certainly plays an important role in supporting this effort,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.K.Fm., stated that FK USU continues to open opportunities for collaboration with regional governments and hospitals in supporting the development of specialist medical education.

“FK USU is committed to supporting the development of high-quality specialist medical education through cooperation with various institutions and regional governments. We hope this meeting will become a positive first step toward building sustainable synergy,” he explained.

On the same occasion, the Director of RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan, dr. Firman Nurdiansyah, M.Ked., Sp.THT-KL., M.M., emphasized the hospital’s readiness to support the implementation of specialist medical education programs in the future.

“We hope this cooperation can be implemented successfully and provide tangible benefits, both in improving the competence of medical personnel and healthcare services for communities in our region,” he said.

Through this meeting, FK USU, the Government of Indragiri Hilir Regency, and RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan are expected to strengthen their synergy in the development of specialist medical education, thereby supporting improvements in healthcare service quality and the equitable distribution of specialist doctors across various regions in Indonesia.
