“Today’s inauguration marks the birth of seven new pediatric specialists who are ready to dedicate themselves to safeguarding the health of future generations. We hope the graduates will continue to uphold professional ethics, remain grounded in scientific knowledge, and provide the best possible care for Indonesian children. To our new PPDS participants, welcome to an academic environment filled with dedication and a strong spirit of learning,” said Prof. Aldy.

The Department of Pediatric Health, Faculty of Medicine USU, once again demonstrated its commitment to producing professional and ethical medical specialists through the inauguration of seven Pediatricians (Sp.A) cohorts 658–664 and the welcoming of ten new participants of the Pediatric Specialist Training Program, held on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine USU.

The inauguration ceremony began with the presentation of graduation insignia to participants who had successfully completed their specialist training. This moment marked an increase in the number of FK USU–trained pediatric specialists ready to serve the community.

In his address, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K) expressed his pride in the achievements of the young doctors who had completed the long journey of specialist education. He emphasized that becoming a specialist is not the end of learning, but rather the beginning of a greater responsibility to serve society.

“Today’s inauguration marks the emergence of seven new pediatric specialists ready to serve the health of future generations. We hope the graduates will continue to uphold professional ethics, adhere to scientific principles, and provide the best services for Indonesian children. To our new PPDS participants, welcome to an academic environment filled with dedication and enthusiasm for learning,” Prof. Aldy reiterated.

He also reminded the newly inaugurated specialists to always prioritize the principle of “Adab Dulu Baru Ilmu”—placing character and ethics before knowledge—since high expertise must be accompanied by strong morals and good conduct. In addition, he emphasized “Primum non nocere”, a fundamental principle in medicine and medical ethics, which asserts that every medical action must always prioritize patient safety.

Representing the newly inaugurated pediatric specialists, dr. Maria Anstasia Wibisono, M.Ked(Ped)., Sp.A, also delivered remarks and expressed gratitude on behalf of her colleagues.

“We are grateful to have reached this stage after a long and challenging journey. We extend our sincere thanks to all supervising lecturers, academic staff, and our families for their unwavering support. This inauguration serves as a meaningful milestone for us to continue serving and providing the best care for the health of Indonesian children. We are committed to upholding the good name of our alma mater, FK USU, by continuously learning and striving to give our best,” she said emotionally.
