The Faculty of Medicine USU participated in the SINTA (Science and Technology Index) Synchronization Socialization Roadshow organized by the Directorate of Scientific Writing, Publication and Publishing (DITP3I) USU. The activity was held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the 1st Floor Meeting Room of the Faculty of Medicine USU.

This activity was part of a series of socialization roadshows aimed at the USU academic community to improve understanding of the synchronization and management of data in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA). SINTA is one of the important systems for mapping and managing publication records and the research performance of lecturers and researchers in higher education institutions.

The meeting began with remarks and an opening delivered by the Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization of the Faculty of Medicine USU, dr. O.K. Ilham Abdullah Irsyam, Sp.OT, AIFO-K. In his remarks, he stated that updating and synchronizing SINTA data is an important part of supporting the strengthening of academic and research performance within the Faculty of Medicine USU.

“Synchronizing SINTA data is important to ensure that the publication records and research activities of the academic community are properly recorded. Through this activity, we hope that lecturers can better understand the synchronization process so that the available data can support the development of academic and research performance at the Faculty of Medicine USU.”

Following the opening, the activity continued with a presentation by the DITP3I USU team. The socialization materials covered an understanding of SINTA, the data synchronization process, and matters that need to be considered by the academic community to ensure that publication data and scientific records are accurately and properly updated.

The activity was conducted interactively through presentation and discussion sessions. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and share challenges they encountered in the SINTA data synchronization process.

This effort is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through strengthening academic capacity and knowledge, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of research and innovation ecosystems and the utilization of academic information systems. In addition, the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine USU and DITP3I USU in improving the quality of scientific data management also reflects the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
