The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a working meeting involving the Deanery, Head of the Administrative Office, and newly appointed Managers within the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU). The meeting was held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in the Dean’s Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of FK USU.
The working meeting was held as part of efforts to strengthen internal coordination while establishing a shared understanding of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of each section. The discussion covered the division of authority, coordination mechanisms, and synergy among sections in supporting the effective and well-directed implementation of faculty work programs.
Dean of FK USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG, Subsp.K.Fm., stated that restructuring and the establishment of new positions are important steps in strengthening faculty governance. According to him, every official needs to understand their respective duties, functions, and responsibilities so that work can be carried out in a more measurable, transparent, and mutually supportive manner.
“With these new positions and structures in place, I hope coordination within FK USU will become stronger. Each section must understand its duties and responsibilities, work according to its respective functions, and establish good communication so that all faculty programs can be implemented effectively and produce optimal results,” said the Dean.
Through strengthened task distribution and coordination, FK USU continues to promote accountable, effective, and quality-oriented institutional governance aimed at improving both academic and administrative services. This effort is in line with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), particularly in building effective, transparent, and accountable institutions.
The Dean of FK USU hopes that the new structure and positions will have a positive impact on organizational performance. With clearer division of duties, improved coordination, and a shared commitment to carrying out responsibilities, FK USU is expected to become increasingly prepared to face various challenges and continue moving toward a medical faculty that is excellent, adaptive, professional, and competitive.
