Students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again brought pride to the faculty by winning several awards at the 2026 USU Student Arts Week, held on 23 June 2026 at the Student Center Auditorium, 2nd Floor, USU. This achievement demonstrates that FK USU students not only excel academically but also possess remarkable talent and creativity that enable them to compete in the arts.

At the competition, FK USU students earned three awards across two vocal categories. In the Male Pop Vocal Solo category, Dalton Antonius Simanjuntak won First Place, while Muhammad Bintang Athalarik secured Second Place. In the Female Dangdut Vocal Solo category, Naila Safitri Ramadani Rambe was awarded Second Place, completing an impressive performance by the Faculty of Medicine delegation.

These accomplishments reflect the Faculty of Medicine's commitment to promoting holistic student development. In addition to equipping students with academic and professional competencies in medicine, the faculty provides opportunities for them to cultivate their interests, talents, creativity, and self-expression through various artistic, cultural, sports, and student activities.

Active participation in the arts plays an important role in shaping students into creative, confident, and collaborative individuals while fostering a balance between intellectual, emotional, and social competencies. These qualities are essential for future healthcare professionals in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Through the outstanding achievements of its students, the Faculty of Medicine USU remains committed to fostering an educational environment that nurtures graduates who are academically excellent, innovative, well-rounded, and globally competitive, in line with its vision of The Era of Ultimate Excellence.

The success of FK USU students at the Student Arts Week reflects a higher education approach that extends beyond academic excellence to encompass the comprehensive development of students' potential. By supporting arts and extracurricular activities, the faculty enables students to strengthen their creativity, artistic talents, communication skills, self-confidence, and leadership abilities, all of which are integral components of the learning experience.

This holistic educational approach is closely aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly in creating an educational environment that nurtures students' competencies, creativity, and character. It prepares graduates who are adaptable, highly qualified, and capable of making meaningful contributions to society. These achievements also demonstrate that the quality of higher education is measured not only by academic performance but also by an institution's success in fostering the diverse talents and potential of its students.
