Thursday, December 12, 2024 Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully held the USU AWARD 2024. This success was marked by the festive event and the enthusiasm of the attendees who attended this event. This event is of course held annually and is a momentum of appreciation for lecturers, students, and education staff (tendik) who have made their best contributions during the year 2024.

 

Throughout 2024, USU has won many awards, including the best academics, awards for accredited study programs, awards for educational figures and institutions, and various other awards. Students' achievements have also been successfully inscribed with competitions at national and international events.

 

USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., in his speech, expressed his gratitude to the entire academic community for contributing to improving the university's reputation at the national and international levels.

 

“USU Awards is a form of appreciation for those who have shown extraordinary dedication. Hopefully, this award will motivate us all to continue working and giving the best for the university and the community around us,” said Prof. Muryanto.

 

Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.F.E.R., as Secretary of USU, reminded the role of students as agents of change. This event also shows appreciation for the outstanding students who have made USU proud in various competitions.

 

“Students are the next generation of the nation. Their achievements show great potential that needs to be continuously developed to impact society, nation, and state positively,” he said.

 

In this case, the USU Faculty of Medicine also won various awards, such as:

Best Writer in Science and Health: 1st place (Prof. Dr. dr. Syah Mirsya Warli, M.Ked., Sp.U(K))

Best Writer in Science and Health: 2nd place (Dr. dr. Darmadi, M.Ked(PD)., Sp. PD)

Best Researcher in Science and Health: 3rd place (Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari, M.Gizi., Sp.K(K))

Meanwhile, Outstanding Education Personnel appreciates educators who provide the best service supporting university operations. Outstanding Students are awarded to students who have made achievements at the national and international levels, both in academic and non-academic fields. In addition, the Best Innovation award is given to teams or individuals who create significant innovations that impact the development of science and society.
