Monday, December 4, 2023, located in the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) again received a visit from the Indonesian Higher Education Health Self-Accreditation Institute (LAM-PTKes), in the context of the Field Assessment of Accreditation of the FK USU Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Study Program (KKLP).
USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, warmly welcomed the arrival of 2 assessor teams from LAM-PTKes, namely dr. Sugito Wonodirekso, MS, PHK, PKK, Sp.KKLP from the University of Indonesia; and Prof. Dr. dr. Rizanda Machmud, M. Kes., FISPH., FISCM., Sp. KKLP., Subsp. FOMC from Andalas University. Also present were the Dean of the USU Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K)., Vice Dean I Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K)., Vice Dean II Dr. dr. Muara P. Lubis, M.Ked (OG), Sp.OG (K),. and Vice Dean III Faculty of Medicine USU dr. Inke Diniyanti Lubis, Sp.A, PhD., along with other academicians.
The Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Study Program is a priority for the Indonesian Ministry of Health in increasing its Human Resources, and it is hoped that the Government, especially the Minister of Health, can change Primary Care Transformation in Indonesia. To achieve Indonesia Emas in 2040, it is necessary to accelerate the production of Dr.Sp.KKLP by 961 per year. Therefore, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, hopes that the evaluation by the assessors can provide a good minimum accreditation recognition for the FK USU KKLP Specialist Study Program, in its capacity as a new study program.
The Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K) hopes to get good information, evaluation, and recommendations from the assessor team so that it can be a reference for further developing what has been prepared to support the progress of the KKLP Specialist Study Program in the future.
In his remarks, the assessor Dr. Sugito Wonodirekso, MS, PHK, PKK, Sp.KKLP underlined the importance of responsibility as a key element in developing educational programs. The statement also reflects his confidence in the quality of USU, including facilities and infrastructure, but still emphasizes the need to pay attention to responsibility as the main foundation in opening new study programs.
