USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, represented by USU Director of Education Development Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, S.T., MMIT, welcomed the arrival of 2 assessor teams from LAM-PTKes, namely Dr. dr. Wachid Putranto, Sp.PD-KGH, FINASIM, and Prof. dr. Aida Lydia, Ph.D., Sp.PD-KGH,. Also present were the Dean of the USU Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K)., Vice Dean I Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K)., Vice Dean II Dr. dr. Muara P. Lubis, M.Ked (OG), Sp.OG (K),. and Vice Dean III Faculty of Medicine USU dr. Inke Diniyanti Lubis, Sp.A, PhD., along with other academicians.

In his remarks the Rector, represented by Director of USU Education Development Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, S.T., MMIT, hopes that through this assessment, the Sp2 (Subspecialist) Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Study Program will succeed in getting good accreditation, so that it can realize its vision and mission. The Sp2 Pulmonology Study Program opened at Universitas Sumatera Utara is the first study program in its field and the only one in Indonesia, with specializations in Thoracic Oncology and Respiratory Intervention.

The director of USU Education Development also said that the basis for the opening of the study program was based on the reality of the high need for subspecialty lung disease doctor services, especially in the fields of Oncology and Respiratory Intervention, especially those in type B and A referral hospitals throughout Indonesia. We hope this study program can produce prospective clinical educators for Sp-1 education in all regions in Indonesia, and meet the needs of practitioners of these medical specialties. The Sp2 (Subspecialist) Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, has established partnerships with H Adam Malik Hospital, Prof Dr Chairuddin P Lubis USU Hospital, Persahabatan Hospital Jakarta, Pirngadi Hospital, Murni Teguh Hospital and Serdang Hospital Malaysia, which are also educational vehicles for the study program, to meet all educational needs that will take place.
