Medan, 7 July 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) marked another important milestone in the development of healthcare professionals through the Inauguration Ceremony of the 672nd, 673rd, 674th, and 675th Cohorts of Pediatric Specialists. Held solemnly on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, USU, the ceremony officially welcomed the graduates as pediatric specialists ready to dedicate their knowledge and expertise to serving the community.
In her remarks, the newly appointed Head of the Pediatric Health Study Program, dr. Aridamuriany Dwiputri Lubis, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K)., expressed her appreciation to all graduates for their dedication and perseverance throughout their specialist training. She emphasized that pediatric specialists are expected not only to possess outstanding clinical competence but also to demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to children's healthcare.
"Today is not the end of the learning process, but the beginning of true service. The challenges in pediatric healthcare will continue to evolve with the times. Therefore, I hope all graduates will always uphold professionalism, adhere to medical ethics, continue advancing their knowledge, and become pediatric specialists who provide the highest quality care for every child and their family," said dr. Aridamuriany.
She also encouraged the graduates to continue upholding the reputation of their alma mater and to contribute to the advancement of pediatric medicine through clinical service, education, and impactful research for society.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. dr. Muara Panusuunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG., Subsp.K.Fm., congratulated all pediatric specialists on successfully completing their training. He noted that their achievement was the result of hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support of their families, lecturers, and the entire FK USU academic community.

The ceremony also reflects FK USU's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by producing competent medical specialists to improve the quality of healthcare services, and SDG 4: Quality Education through the provision of high-quality, innovative, and sustainable specialist medical education.
With the inauguration of the 672nd to 675th Cohorts of Pediatric Specialists, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes that its graduates will become leading providers of high-quality, ethical pediatric healthcare while contributing to the advancement of Indonesia's healthcare system through dedication, innovation, and a strong commitment to serving society.
