The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), held a Deanery Thanksgiving Gathering on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Hall of FK USU. The event, conducted in a warm and family-oriented atmosphere, was attended by the Vice Rector II for Human Resources, Finance, and Information Systems of Universitas Sumatera Utara, professors, lecturers, administrative staff, and the entire leadership team of FK USU.
The event began with a ceremonial cutting of the traditional tumpeng as an expression of gratitude for the achievements and blessings attained by FK USU. This thanksgiving gathering also served as an opportunity to strengthen relationships and enhance synergy among faculty leaders, academic staff, and administrative personnel in supporting the faculty’s continued development.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG, Subsp.K.Fm., expressed gratitude for the support and collaboration of all members of the faculty who have contributed to the institution’s achievements. He emphasized that FK USU’s success is the result of collective efforts grounded in togetherness, commitment, and a shared spirit of excellence in medical education.
“This thanksgiving gathering is not only an expression of gratitude for the blessings and trust bestowed upon us by Allah SWT, but also a moment to strengthen brotherhood and unity within FK USU. I hope that the spirit of collaboration we have nurtured will continue to grow for the advancement of the faculty, the university, and our service to society,” said the Dean.
He also encouraged all members of the academic community to continue innovating and upholding integrity in carrying out their respective responsibilities so that FK USU can further contribute to producing outstanding, principled graduates who are capable of competing at both national and international levels.
Representing the senior faculty members and professors of FK USU, Prof. Dr. H. Guslihan Dasa Tjipta, Sp.A(K). expressed his appreciation to the deanery for their dedication and hard work in leading the faculty. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the values of unity, mutual respect, and family spirit that have long been the foundation of FK USU’s strength.
“FK USU has grown into one of the most respected medical education institutions. This achievement is the result of the contributions of our predecessors, leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and the entire academic community. I hope this tradition of togetherness will continue to be preserved so that FK USU can progress even further and successfully face future challenges,” stated Prof. Guslihan.
On the same occasion, the Vice Rector II of Universitas Sumatera Utara also expressed appreciation for the various contributions and achievements of FK USU. He hoped that the faculty would continue to be at the forefront of education, research, and community service while strengthening the reputation of Universitas Sumatera Utara at both national and global levels.
The thanksgiving gathering concluded in a spirit of warmth and camaraderie with a fellowship session and communal meal. The event symbolized both gratitude and a renewed commitment among the entire FK USU family to continue working together toward realizing the faculty’s vision as an excellent, innovative, and internationally competitive institution for medical education.
