The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) has once again achieved a proud milestone nationally. The delegation, consisting of Ananda Putri Miftahul Janah, Alexander Williams Manalu, and Enrico Franditho Sihombing, successfully secured 3rd place in the Literature Review Competition category at RIMESCO 2.0, organized by the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Riau, from July 22 to July 27, 2025.
The achievement was officially announced on September 7, 2025. This year’s scientific competition carried the theme “DIGEST — Developing Innovation and Global Excellence in Gastrohepatobiliary Disease,” emphasizing innovation and global development in the study of gastrohepatobiliary diseases. Through their literature review titled “Molecular Approach in the Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Review of Current Trends, Clinical Potentials, and Challenges,” the FK USU team demonstrated strong research quality, critical analysis, and a comprehensive understanding of pressing global health issues.
This accomplishment not only marks a significant achievement for the three student delegates but also underscores FK USU’s commitment to nurturing future generations of medical professionals who excel in academics, research, and scientific competitions.
Through this success, FK USU hopes to continue encouraging students to actively engage in scientific events and further strengthen the university’s reputation at both national and international levels.
