Medan, August 14, 2026 — The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), has once again achieved an outstanding accomplishment. FK USU delegation members Asy Syifa Maulida and Raja Khair Ali Simatupang won First Place at the Surabaya Internal Medicine Fun Olympiad and Intelligent Quiz (SIMFONI II), organized by the Surabaya branch of the Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine (PAPDI).
The achievement was earned as part of the XLI Internal Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) 2026 series, held on August 8 and 15, 2026, in Surabaya. The success of the FK USU delegation demonstrates the students' academic abilities, knowledge, and competitive spirit in participating in a national-level scientific competition.

SIMFONI II serves as a platform for medical students to broaden their knowledge and develop intellectual abilities, particularly in the field of internal medicine. This achievement also reflects the FK USU delegation's commitment to continuously developing their academic competencies through various scientific activities and competitions.
The achievement aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Participation in academic competitions provides students with opportunities to expand their knowledge, strengthen critical-thinking skills, and develop competencies that support quality medical education.
