Monday, February 9, 2026 — The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) conducted an official visit to Dharmais Cancer Hospital (RSK Dharmais) to explore and strengthen educational cooperation for the Subspecialist-2 (Sp2) Residency Programs in Surgery and in Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine. The visit was led by the Vice Dean III of FK USU, dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDip PID., FAAET., M.Ked(Ped)., Sp.A., Ph.D, accompanied by dr. Denny Rifsal Siregar, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K), M.Kes.; dr. Pimpin Utama Pohan, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K); Prof. Dr. dr. Dedy Hermansyah, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K); and dr. Endi Taris Pasaribu, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K). All are members of FK USU’s leadership and teaching staff.
The FK USU delegation was warmly welcomed by dr. R. Soeko Werdi Nindito D, MARS, President Director / Acting President Director of Dharmais Cancer Hospital, along with the hospital’s management team and department heads, including the Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research, drg. Inda Torisia Hatang, MKM; the Head of the Functional Education Unit; the Head of the Breast Department, dr. Bayu Brahma, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K); the Head of the Head and Neck Department, dr. Bob Andinata, Sp.B, Subsp.Onk(K); the Head of the Musculoskeletal Department, dr. Danang Tri Wahyudi, Sp.D.V.E., Subsp.O.B.K., FINSDV, FAADV; as well as the Head of Legal Affairs and Public Relations of RSK Dharmais.
In her remarks, Vice Dean III of FK USU, dr. Inke Nadia, emphasized that this collaboration represents a strategic step toward enhancing the quality of specialist and subspecialist medical education, particularly in the field of oncology.
“FK USU is committed to expanding its educational network with national referral hospitals such as Dharmais Cancer Hospital, so that trainees can gain comprehensive clinical experience based on complex cancer cases and aligned with national and international standards,” she reiterated.
The primary objectives of this collaboration include the provision of clinical education for Subspecialist-2 residents in Surgery and in Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, strengthening oncology research collaboration, enhancing faculty capacity, and developing healthcare services grounded in education and research. Through this partnership, FK USU and Dharmais Cancer Hospital are expected to make a tangible contribution to improving the quality of specialist medical education and delivering more optimal cancer care services for the community.
