The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), once again held an inauguration ceremony for pediatric specialists from cohorts 665 to 671 on Tuesday, April 14, 2025. The ceremony took place solemnly at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine USU and was attended by the Vice Dean I, as well as representatives from affiliated hospitals, the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI), and the North Sumatra Health Office.
During the event, Vice Dean I of FK USU, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked(PA), Sp.PA, delivered remarks on behalf of the Dean. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the dedication of the trainees who had successfully completed their specialist education with strong commitment.
“This inauguration marks an important milestone in the professional journey of these doctors. We hope that all graduates will carry out their responsibilities with integrity and provide the best possible healthcare services, particularly in the field of child health,” he stated.
The Head of the Pediatric Specialist Study Program, Prof. dr. Ayodhia Pitaloka, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K), Ph.D (CTM), also delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of integrity and competence in medical practice.
“Today’s graduates are not only required to excel clinically but also to adapt to the advancement of science and technology, while upholding professional ethics,” she noted.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with a group photo session involving all participants and invited guests, symbolizing togetherness and commemorating the achievement. Through this event, FK USU reaffirmed its commitment to producing high-quality, professional, and ethical medical personnel who are ready to contribute meaningfully to improving public health.
The Director of RSP Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU, dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, PGDip PID, FAAET., M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A., Ph.D, also conveyed her message to the newly inaugurated doctors.
“We hope that the newly appointed pediatric specialists will become the frontline in improving the quality of healthcare services and contribute to the development of education- and research-based services in teaching hospitals,” she said.
The inauguration procession was marked by the conferment of professional insignia to the pediatric specialists by the Head of the Pediatric Study Program, Prof. dr. Ayodhia Pitaloka, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K), Ph.D (CTM), together with the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. dr. Bugis Mardina Lubis, M.Ked(Ped), Sp.A(K), and accompanied by the Secretary of the Study Program and the Department. This moment symbolized the formal recognition of the doctors’ competence and their readiness to practice professionally.
