The Faculty of Medicine USU received a visit from the Deli Serdang Regency Health Office for a discussion and exploration of the extension of cooperation on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen synergy between medical education institutions and local governments in supporting the development of health human resources.
The visit from the Deli Serdang Regency Health Office was attended by the Head of the Health Human Resources Work Team (Katimker SDMK), Susidasari, SKM, M.Kes., along with Staff of the Health Human Resources Work Team, Desy Hardiani, SKM, M.KM. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari M.Gizi, Sp.GK, Subsp.PK, as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization of FK USU.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed various aspects related to the sustainability of the cooperation, particularly in supporting the improvement of the competence and capacity of health workers. The discussion also served as a momentum to evaluate the cooperation that has been implemented while identifying opportunities to develop collaborative programs that are more relevant to the needs of healthcare services in Deli Serdang Regency.
Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari M.Gizi, Sp.GK, Subsp.PK stated that FK USU is committed to continuing to strengthen partnerships with local governments as part of the contribution of higher education institutions to improving the quality of health human resources.
“The extension of this cooperation is an important step to ensure that the synergy between FK USU and the Deli Serdang Health Office can continue to provide tangible benefits. We hope that future cooperation will not only focus on developing the competence of health human resources but can also encourage collaboration in education, research, and community service according to regional needs,” said Prof. Dina.
This activity also supported Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes the importance of effective partnerships among educational institutions, governments, and other stakeholders in achieving sustainable development.
Through the extension of this cooperation, FK USU and the Deli Serdang Regency Health Office are expected to continue building sustainable and adaptive collaboration that contributes to improving the quality of health human resources and the health status of communities in North Sumatra.
