Students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), Arryan Bramlie and Joshua Jordan, successfully secured Second Place at the Indonesian Medical Olympiad (IMO) 2025 in the Cardiology–Respiratory category. This achievement reflects the strong academic competence and dedication of FK USU students in competing at the national level.

The Indonesian Medical Olympiad (IMO) is a national medical competition consistently organized by the Indonesian Association of Medical Student Senates (ISMKI) since 2010. The competition serves as a platform for medical students from across Indonesia to develop and showcase their academic potential in both basic medical sciences and clinical disciplines.

In 2025, IMO was conducted through three stages: the preliminary round, semifinal, and final. The preliminary round was held online, while the semifinal and final rounds took place offline at Hasanuddin University, Makassar, from 4–7 December 2025. IMO 2025 brought together medical students from various universities nationwide, competing across a wide range of medical fields, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, and major clinical disciplines. Throughout the competition, participants were required to integrate medical concepts comprehensively in analyzing cases quickly, accurately, and based on scientific principles.

At this prestigious event, FK USU students Arryan Bramlie and Joshua Jordan achieved Second Place in the Cardiology–Respiratory category, marking a significant academic accomplishment for the institution.
