The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), welcomed an educational visit from Edu Global High School on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Held within the FK USU campus, the visit was attended by 38 students and 5 accompanying teachers as part of an effort to provide students with insights and firsthand experience of higher education, particularly medical education.
The educational visit aimed to introduce the university academic environment while providing students with an overview of the learning system, university life, and various facilities supporting the educational process at FK USU. The activity was expected to provide an inspiring experience for students as they prepare to pursue higher education.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to become more familiar with the FK USU environment through an introductory session and tours of educational facilities. The students were taken to several key FK USU facilities, including the CBT (Computer-Based Test) Laboratory, Anatomy Laboratory, and Skills Lab.
The visit to the CBT Laboratory provided students with an overview of computer-based learning assessments as part of the medical education process. Meanwhile, through the visit to the Anatomy Laboratory, students were introduced to one of the important facilities for medical science education, which supports an understanding of the structure and function of the human body.
The students also had the opportunity to visit the Skills Lab, which supports the clinical skills training of medical students. Through this visit, students were able to see firsthand how the medical learning environment is designed to develop students’ knowledge and skills before they proceed to the clinical education stage.
This educational visit served as an opportunity for FK USU to introduce the field of medical education to the younger generation while encouraging students to gain a clearer understanding of and better preparation for making higher education choices in the future.
The activity also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly by expanding access to information and quality educational experiences and encouraging young people to pursue higher education.
Through educational activities and firsthand introductions to its facilities, FK USU continues to create opportunities for interaction with the secondary education community as part of its efforts to foster a learning culture, strengthen academic motivation, and introduce medical education to the future generation of healthcare professionals.
