The Departments of Community Medicine, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Microbiology, the Sp-1 KKLP Study Program, and Clinical Nutrition collaborated to hold the FK USU 2024 Fun Walk on Sunday (24/11/2024) at the USU FK Front Field with the USU Campus Route.

Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K) accompanied by Prof. dr. H Amri Amir Sp.F, DFM, SH, Sp.Akup., dr. Murniati Manik, M.Sc. Sp.KK-FINSDV, Sp.GK (K), released the FK USU Fun Walk participants this time. Also present was the Head Department of Community Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Arlinda Sari Wahyuni M.Kes., Head Clinical Nutrition Study Program, Prof. Dr. dr. Dina Keumala Sari M.Gizi, Sp.GK (K)., Clinical Nutrition Department Lecturer, Nenni Dwi Aprianti Lubis, SP., M.Si., Head Department of Microbiology, Dr. Evita Mayasari M.Kes, Ph.D., Biochemistry Staff, Dr. dr. Muhammad Syahputra M.Kes. This activity was attended by approximately 250 participants, including lecturers, PPDS, students, and education staff.

 

After reaching the finish line at the Faculty of Medicine, all participants were invited to eat breakfast provided by the committee. Furthermore, the activity continued with remarks from the Dean of FK USU. In his remarks, the Dean conveyed that this fun walk is a routine activity we hold at FK USU, but it was stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is also the 9th Fun Walk for 2024.

“We hold this Funwalk aims to not only exercise for our better health but also to strengthen the bond of friendship between the FK USU academic community,” said Prof. Aldy.

In addition to the Fun Walk activities, there was entertainment such as Fitness Gymnastics, Games, a Koas Parody with the theme “Suka Duka Koas FK USU,” and a Performance of Medan City Little Doctor. The enthusiasm of the Fun Walk participants, consisting of lecturers, education staff, and students, was very pronounced. The excitement also peaked when the door prizes were given. 

With this Fun Walk activity, we are expected to be able to strengthen solidarity; this activity also aims to encourage active participation in maintaining health in the hope of motivating participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle, including exercising regularly.
