Some of the benefits of this activity include adding scientific insight and showing FK USU's commitment to producing quality graduates who can compete at the national and international levels. By organizing this guest lecture, it is hoped that it can make a real contribution to broadening the horizons of FK USU students and lecturers and strengthening FK USU's position in developing research in the field of Dermatology relevant to global challenges.

The Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara successfully held a guest lecture entitled “The Current Leprosy Situation in Ghana & Leprosy Sociopsychology Related to Treatment Behavior”. This event occurred on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the 4th Floor Auditorium Building of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra. This guest lecture presented two renowned speakers, Ken Sugata, M.D., Ph.D., a pediatrician from Japan, and Yumi Mizuno, a psychologist from Mie National Hospital, Japan. In the presentation session, Ken Sugata, MD, Ph.D. reviewed the situation in Ghana, West Africa. Meanwhile, Yumi Mizuno delivered material on the socio-psychological conditions of leprosy related to treatment behavior.

 

 

The event was opened by Vice Dean 3 of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Inke Diniyanti Lubis, MKed (Ped) SpA, Ph.D and attended by hundreds of students and lecturers of FK USU. Participants were enthusiastic about participating in this guest lecture, as evidenced by the many questions and interactive discussions in the question-and-answer session. Some of the benefits of this activity include adding scientific insight and showing FK USU's commitment to producing quality graduates who can compete at the national and international levels. By organizing this guest lecture, it is hoped that it can make a real contribution to broadening the horizons of FK USU students and lecturers and strengthening FK USU's position in developing research in the field of Dermatology relevant to global challenges.

 

In addition, the Japanese delegation team was accompanied by the Department of Dermatology and Gender, Dr. dr. Ramona Dumasari Lubis, Sp.D.V.E, Subsp.D.T, M.Ked(KK), FINSDV, FAADV, dr. Flora Marlita Lubis, Sp.D.V.E, Subsp. D.T, M.Ked(DV), FINSDV, FAADV, dr. Ariyati Yosi, M.Ked(KK), Sp.D.V.E, Subsp. D. T, FINSDV, FAADV, and dr. Deryne Anggia Paramita, M.Ked(KK), Sp.D.V.E, Subsp. D.A, FINSDV, FAADV visited H.Adam Malik Hospital, Pirngadi Hospital, and Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital, as well as the Medan City Health Office, which took place from Monday to Wednesday, March 3-5, 2025.
