“Congratulations to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for its continuous efforts in graduating qualified and well-educated specialists. On this occasion, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery has graduated 4 new specialists and welcomed 5 new residents who were selected from many applicants. May the knowledge they have gained be implemented to bring benefits to the wider community,” said Dr. Devira Zahara, Chair of PERHATI-KL North Sumatra Branch.

Medan, 19 November 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara once again marked an important moment in its academic journey by inaugurating 4 Ear Nose Throat Head and Neck Surgery specialists who became the 239th to 242nd alumni and introducing 5 new residents for the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. The ceremony took place solemnly and proudly in the 3rd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine USU.

On this occasion, the Chair of PERHATI-KL North Sumatra Branch, Dr. dr. Devira Zahara, Sp.T.H.T.B.K.L., Subsp.Oto(K), M.Ked (ORL-HNS), expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the achievements of the study program in producing high-quality graduates.

 

“Congratulations to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for its continuous efforts in graduating qualified and well-educated specialists. On this occasion, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery has graduated 4 new specialists and welcomed 5 new residents who were selected from many applicants. May the knowledge they have gained be implemented to bring benefits to the wider community. The new specialists are expected to be willing to be placed in areas in need and to always uphold the good name of their alma mater,” said Dr. Devira.

 

Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), representing the faculty leadership, expressed pride and appreciation for the hard work of the study program. “On behalf of the faculty leadership, we would like to express our gratitude to the ENT-HNS Study Program for successfully producing new specialists and welcoming new residents. Congratulations also to the new specialists, we hope that all of you will be able to provide the best service to the Indonesian people wherever you are placed.”

 

In addition, the Head of the ENT-HNS Department also delivered remarks with hopes that the graduates will continue to develop themselves and maintain professional standards, and that the new residents will be able to undergo their training period with high dedication and strong enthusiasm for learning.

 

“We would like to extend our gratitude to all affiliated hospitals that have guided, mentored, and provided an invaluable learning environment. This collaboration has been an important part of our success in producing high-quality ENT-HNS specialists,” he added.
