In order to produce outstanding graduates, the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara is committed to providing the best services in the learning process through Human Resources (HR), curriculum, and campus facilities. This commitment is realized by constructing the Histology and Pharmacology Building.
The inauguration of the new Histology and Pharmacology building was attended by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt., Vice Rector V for Asset and Business Management of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Ir. Luhut Sihombing, M.P., the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S(K)., Vice Dean I of Faculty of Medicine USU, Dr. dr. Delyuzar M.Ked(PA), Sp.PA(K)., Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Medicine of USU, Dr. dr. Muara Panusunan Lubis M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)., Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Medicine of USU, dr. Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis M.Ked(Ped)., Sp.A, Ph.D. , and other academicians.
The Histology-Pharmacology Office Building and Laboratory were inaugurated directly by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., which was marked by signing the building inauguration inscription and the ribbon cutting ceremony.
In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his enthusiasm for the completion of the Histology-Pharmacology Office Building and Laboratory. The completion has been long-anticipated since the building was abandoned. The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes that with the inauguration of this new building, all administrative and learning activities at the two Departments of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Sumatera Utara can run smoothly. Given that previously, the two departments had to share spaces with other buildings to meet their work and learning needs.
Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., also advised that to achieve quality output and have significant benefits, it is necessary to have good synergy between faculty leaders, department leaders, and laboratory managers. They must share the same vision when viewing the laboratory's function, role, and performance. The head of the laboratory is now required to have not only technical competence according to standards but also managerial competence and sociocultural competence. With the inauguration of these two buildings, I hope that the departments' and faculty's performance and achievements in producing quality, innovative, and international standard research will increase.
In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S(K)., explained that after this building can be used, the Department of Histology and the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics will soon return to their buildings. This will have a positive impact on education in both departments.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine USU, hopes that this building can be utilized optimally and will be equipped with the latest equipment. This will support lecturers and students in the Department of Histology and the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in improving the quality of education and research.
