The PPDS KKLP FK USU team went directly to flood-affected areas in Sekerak District by carrying out Mobile Clinic services and Social Outreach activities. This initiative aimed to help meet community health service needs and ease the burden of residents during the post-disaster emergency period.
The flood disaster that struck Aceh Tamiang Regency left deep sorrow for the affected communities. Concern over these conditions was also felt by the extended family of the Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Training Program (PPDS KKLP), Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), which is committed to being present on the ground to provide humanitarian assistance.
On Tuesday, 10 December 2025, the PPDS KKLP FK USU team visited flood-affected locations in Sekerak District through the implementation of Mobile Clinic services and Social Outreach activities. These activities aimed to support community health service needs and reduce the burden on residents during the post-disaster emergency response period.
During the activity, the team provided free medical services, including general health examinations as well as wound treatment and care for flood-affected residents. In addition to medical services, the team also distributed logistical assistance in the form of ready-to-eat food, drinks, towels, and boiled eggs to help meet the basic needs of the community.
This humanitarian activity was carried out through close collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Family Medicine Specialists (PDSKKI) North Sumatra Branch, which supported the implementation of community-based health services in the affected areas.
PPDS KKLP FK USU also felt honored by the presence and support of several leaders and figures, including dr. Junida, M.Kes., Sp.KKLP, Chair of PDSKKI North Sumatra Branch; Acting Director of RSUP H. Adam Malik, dr. Zainal Safri, M.Ked(PD), Sp.PD-KKV, Sp.JP(K); as well as Dr. dr. Yetty Machrima, Sp.KKLP, a lecturer of the KKLP Study Program FK USU and Chair of the Flood Disaster Task Force Implementation Team for Sumatra within FK USU.
Through these Mobile Clinic and Social Outreach activities, PPDS KKLP FK USU reaffirmed its commitment to continuously play an active role in community service, especially in disaster situations. It is hoped that the presence of the medical team can help accelerate the recovery of community health and provide moral support for affected residents.
