PPDS Forensik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) berhasil menorehkan prestasi membanggakan dengan meraih Juara 1 pada cabang lomba Forensic Olympiad oleh dr. Dedi Andika S. dan dr. Imelda Sibarani serta Juara 1 pada kompetisi Forensic Idol oleh dr. Ricky C. Siregar.

The Indonesian Association of Medical-Legal Forensic Doctors (PDFMI) successfully held its 2025 Congress and Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) at the Claro Hotel in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, on Friday (August 1, 2025). This year, the PDFMI Congress and PIT carried the theme “The Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Forensic and Medicolegal Analysis.”

 

Attending the event were the Chairman and Board of the Indonesian Association of Forensic Medical Doctors (PDFI), the Chairman of the Congress Committee, speakers and experts in the fields of Forensics and Health Technology, congress participants and annual scientific meeting participants from all over Indonesia, as well as various other related parties.

 

Drs. H. Asrun Lio., M.Hum, Ph.D, as the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Secretary representing the Governor, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to PDFMI for choosing Bumi Anoa as the host.


“We hope that this congress will not only be a productive forum for discussion among forensic and medicolegal experts, but also a valuable opportunity to get to know the potential, culture, and hospitality of the people of Southeast Sulawesi,” he said.

 

Asrun Lio also hoped that this Congress would produce strategic ideas for developing forensic science that would benefit the development and the enforcement of justice in society.  

 

“Where the knowledge of forensic doctors is needed in providing evidence in every criminal case,” he added.

 

In addition to the organizational meeting and scientific forum agenda, the 2025 PDFMI Congress and PIT activities were also enlivened by various competitions participated in by participants of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) from various medical institutions in Indonesia. On this occasion, the Forensic PPDS of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) managed to make a proud achievement by winning 1st place in the Forensic Olympiad competition by Dr. Dedi Andika S. and Dr. Imelda Sibarani as well as 1st place in the Forensic Idol competition by Dr. Ricky C. Siregar.

 

This success is clear evidence of the academic quality, competitive spirit, and dedication of PPDS FK USU in developing forensic science at the national level. This achievement has also brought pride to the institution and motivated the younger generation of forensic doctors in Indonesia to continue innovating and contributing to the field of medicolegal science.
