The Malaysian Thoracic Society is an organization focusing on Respiratory Health and provides standardized training programs for healthcare providers in Malaysia. MTS organizes an annual Congress to share advances and updates in adult and pediatric Pulmonology, where the society was officially inaugurated in 1987.

On this occasion, dr. Olivia presented a Scientific Poster Presentation titled “The Relationship between ICS LABA Administration and Blood Eosinophil Levels in COPD Patients at USU General Hospital”. Dr. Olivia was mentored by her teacher Prof. Dr. dr. Noni Novisari Soeroso, Sp.P(K), Dr. dr. Amira P. Tarigan, M.Ked (Pulmonary), Sp.P(K) and dr. Andika Pradana, M.Ked (Pulmonary), Sp.P(K). This was successfully achieved thanks to the high spirit and outstanding scientific abilities by the professors and doctors of the Pulmonary Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

In participating in this international scientific activity, Dr. Olivia and seven other Pulmonary PPDS students as USU delegates participated in the Poster Research Presentation. One of the scientific poster examiners from Indonesia, Faculty of Medicine UI (Universitas Indonesia) professor, Dr. Sita Laksmi Andarini, Ph.D, Sp.P (K) was also present.

dr. Olivia Monica Deneuve, M.Ked (Pulmonary), born in Medan on September 20, 1994, is a medical school graduate and Master of Medicine in Medical Education from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara. She began her studies at FK USU in 2011, earned her bachelor of medicine degree in 2015, and completed her residency training in 2017. She completed her Master in Pulmonary degree in 2024, and is in the process of completing pulmonary specialist education at FK USU.

Being the runner-up in the international event proves that the FK USU pulmonary education center is one of Indonesia's best pulmonary specialist education centers. It is hoped that other pulmonary pads will promote the name of Pulmonology FK USU through national and international events in the future.
