Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Socialization of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) in preparation for PIMNAS 2025. The USU Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations carried out this activity on Tuesday (19/11/2024) at the Faculty of Medicine Hall on the third floor.

This activity was attended by Vice Rector I of USU, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA., Vice Dean I of FK USU, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K)., Head of PKM Center USU, Ir. Erni Misran, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., This socialization also presented three expert speakers, namely Dr. Apt. Lutfi Chabib, M.Sc, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec, and Prof. Dr. Dwi Suryanto, M.Sc. With full support from the university, the students are expected to be able to bring the good name of USU to the national arena and realize the target of entering the top 10 in the upcoming PIMNAS.

In his remarks, USU Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, appreciated USU's achievements in PIMNAS 2024, which placed the university in 12th place nationally. According to him, careful preparation is very important for PIMNAS 2025, which will be held at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar.

USU won seven awards at PIMNAS this year, including two gold medals for the poster category. Therefore, the USU Vice Rector I invited all students and supervisors to make the most of the university's support for higher achievements.

Meanwhile, the Head of the USU PKM Center, Ir. Erni Misran, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., reported on various activities throughout 2024, such as the socialization of the latest guidelines, roadshows to 16 faculties, and boot camps to prepare the team for PIMNAS. He mentioned that USU managed to send 11 teams to PIMNAS 2024, the highest achievement in the history of PKM at USU.

This also applies to all students, especially from the USU Faculty of Medicine. As often conveyed by the Deans and Vice Deans, student achievements and creativity must be fully supported by the lecturers and, of course, will be fully supported by the faculty. So, Mr. / Mrs. lecturer has an important role in guiding students in increasing their creativity in the FK USU environment so that it can be widely known even in the international arena.
