Proud achievements were earned by the delegation of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) at the Scripta Research Festival (SRF) 2026. FK USU students demonstrated outstanding academic quality and research capabilities by winning multiple awards across various competition categories.

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) once again reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening a culture of research and scientific excellence through the organization of the Scripta Research Festival (SRF) 2026. This national-scale scientific event was designed as a platform for developing the academic capacity of medical students across Indonesia through a series of scientific competitions, seminars, and workshops. The festival was attended by students from 30 universities nationwide and took place from January 28 to 31, 2026.

Carrying the theme “ISLAND: Immunology Solutions Looking for Advanced Novel Discoveries in Health,” SRF 2026 highlighted the crucial role of immunology in addressing increasingly complex public health challenges in the modern era. Immunology serves as a fundamental basis for understanding both infectious and non-infectious diseases, while also opening opportunities for innovation and new discoveries in the health sector.

The Chair of Scripta Research Festival FK USU 2026, Eurico Romeo Yustito, stated that SRF is expected to serve as a strategic space for medical students to develop critical, analytical, and innovative thinking skills through scientific work that is applicable and impactful for society.

The competition categories featured in SRF 2026 included Public Poster, Scientific Essay, Literature Review, and Oral Presentation. Through these categories, participants were encouraged to explore the latest information and knowledge and present them in high-quality scientific works.

Proud achievements were once again recorded by the FK USU delegation at SRF 2026. FK USU students successfully showcased their academic excellence and research competence by securing multiple awards in various competition categories.

In the Public Poster category, FK USU achieved outstanding results by winning First Place, earned by the team of Alya Nabila Azzahra, Matthew Jefferson Ritonga, and Nadia Fransiska. FK USU also secured Second Place in the same category through the team of Anyelir Nirmala Siregar, Elisabeth Bintang Kasih Sitorus, and Omera Kalilamisha Mahendra.

Meanwhile, in the Scientific Essay category, the FK USU delegation won Second Place through a paper authored by Winda Chairunnur Hamid and Amalia Asri Khairah. The essay was recognized for its comprehensive and innovative discussion of health issues aligned with the overarching theme of SRF 2026.

FK USU’s achievements continued in the Oral Presentation category, where delegates Vincyia Ghovanni and Winnie Aurelia Tanthonius secured Second Place with a presentation that was communicative, systematic, and strongly grounded in scientific evidence.

These accomplishments stand as tangible proof of FK USU’s commitment to fostering a strong culture of research and scientific excellence among students, while further strengthening FK USU’s position as a medical education institution that actively contributes to the advancement of science and innovation in health at the national level.
