Thursday, November 21, 2024 - Al-Ulum Private High School and MAS Plus Al-Ulum conducted a campus visit called Study Campus to the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Study Campus is an activity to visit a university to recognize and experience firsthand how fun and life is on the campus being visited.
This activity was attended by WD I, Dr. dr. Delyuzar M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K)., Head of the Histology Department and the Permanent Coordinator for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, dr. Zulham M.Biomed., Ph.D., Ka. Laboratory of Cell and Tissue Culture as well as Permanent Coordinator of Finance, Human Resources and Asset Administration, Nenni Dwi Aprianti Lubis SP., M.Si., KPS S2 Biomedical Sciences as well as Permanent Coordinator of Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Information Technology, Dr. rer. medic., dr. M. Ichwan M.Sc, Sp.KKLP, Subsp.FOMC., Ka. Bag. Administration of FK USU, Enni Susianti, SP, M.Si, Chairman of Al-Ulum Development and Education Foundation, Dra. Hj Nurul Izzah Djamal, M.M., Principal of Al-Ulum Private High School, Khairul Saleh, M.Pd, Principal of MAS Plus Al-Ulum, Nurlida Sari, MA. accompanied by several other teachers.
In his remarks WD I, Dr. dr. Delyuzar M.Ked (PA), Sp.PA (K), hoped that this activity could motivate and build the students' interest to continue their studies after graduation, especially at the USU Faculty of Medicine. This is also an opportunity for students to be able to learn and recognize and make direct observations to the Laboratory where they not only learn in theory but can also see firsthand the practical tools at the USU Faculty of Medicine.
This visit will also be useful for expanding students' understanding of USU Faculty of Medicine lectures. This meeting was held in the 4th floor hall of FK USU. Then, the students visited several laboratories in the Department, such as the Department of Anatomy and Histology.
During their time in the Anatomy Laboratory, the students had the opportunity to see some practical tools, such as human skeletal bones, cadavers, and preserved animals, which were learning tools for students. In the Histology Laboratory, the students also practiced directly by looking at cells using a microscope and were guided by the laboratory assistant on duty.
With this Study Campus activity, students are expected to prepare themselves well to choose the major they want to take when registering for college later. The activity was closed with a group photo in the FK USU garden.
