Medan, July 14, 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), in collaboration with the Directorate of Learning Digitalization (DitDP), Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized a Basic Workshop on the Use of the USU Learning Management System (LMS) (kelas.usu.ac.id) for faculty members. Held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Third Floor Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, the workshop formed part of the University's efforts to enhance the integration of digital technology into teaching and learning.

The workshop aimed to strengthen lecturers' competencies in maximizing the use of the USU LMS as an integrated, interactive, and accessible learning platform. Participants were introduced to the system's core features, including course management, distribution of learning materials, assignment and quiz creation, as well as monitoring student participation and learning outcomes.

The workshop represents one of the Faculty's key initiatives in supporting the digital transformation of higher education. By expanding the effective use of the LMS, FK USU seeks to promote a learning environment that is more efficient, flexible, and responsive to the evolving needs of education in the digital age.

Beyond enhancing lecturers' technical skills, the workshop also served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices in technology-enhanced teaching. The effective implementation of the LMS is expected to improve interaction between lecturers and students while fostering an innovative, student-centered learning culture.

Through the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and the Directorate of Learning Digitalization, the University expects the LMS to be more widely adopted across all study programs, supporting the delivery of high-quality education that is adaptive to technological advancements and aligned with the vision of Universitas Sumatera Utara as a world-class university.

This initiative also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by enhancing technology-enabled learning and strengthening educators' digital competencies. In addition, the workshop supports SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the effective utilization of digital infrastructure to drive innovation in teaching and learning.
